Lovers On the Air Rapporteur by; Jeepy Pacis Compio (October 23, 2010 issue) Do you ever believe in a soulmate? Are you prepared to have a relationship? Because these lovers, Jeffrey and May who are both DJ’s of a local radio station here in Davao City, tell me that good relationship is all about being mature enough to handle it. Their love story began one day when Jeffrey’s paranoia occurred. Upon knowing it, a girl offered a therapy to ease the pain. The girl’s name is Mayvelyn. Then one event led to another. From the therapy, followed their small chats every day. Though they do not say it out loud to the other, both express their feelings through their actions. This, of course, is weird for me. I never thought of Jeffrey as this kind of romantic guy. He accompanied May everywhere she would go and enjoyed talking with her. Maybe it is because they said they have a lot of similarities that only the two of them can understand. No formal courtship took place for Jeffrey likes her completely before. On the other hand, May’s greatest attribute she saw in Jeffrey is his being a good listener and being calm. She sometimes loses her temper and forgets about Jeffrey. But Jeffrey, being understanding, still loves her. The lovebirds show me that age or year level is neither a basis nor source of their quarrel. They never use this reason and never bring the past event again to add up in their argument. Any hindrances that they encounter, they face them squarely and they settle it immediately. Their relationship is working really good because they are mature enough to handle anything that comes between them. Everyday of their daily routines, they would exchange sweet thoughts and talk about things that interest them. They say that good relationship would not work out without good conversation. May finds Jeffrey as her soul mate, because her feelings for him is not by physical look alone, rather, it is something inside so strange and so powerful. Maybe that feeling within her is love after all. “Before you enter into a relationship, you must be prepared and be mature enough not to end hurting someone, or worse, hurting yourself. Having a relationship is not about the physical aspect of your partner. It is about the level of understanding each person has for each other and having a feeling of companionship to the one you love most.” Jeffrey and May are sample of an amazing relationship that started as being friends and bloomed into a beautiful relationship, getting stronger and stronger everyday. |

Father, the death of my friend ROMEO ROCA LEMENTE brings an emptiness into our lives. We are separated from him and feel broken and disturbed. Give us confidence that he is safe and his life complete with you, and bring us together at the last to the wholeness and fullness of your presence in heaven, where your saints and angels enjoy you for ever and ever. Amen
